Cricket Stadium Victoria Falls

Construction Underway…

The Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium is currently under construction near Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. This multi-purpose stadium is part of Zimbabwe Cricket’s ambitious infrastructure development plan and is expected to be a major boost for sports tourism in the region.

The stadium, which will have a 10,000-seat capacity, is being built with financial support from the International Cricket Council (ICC), at an estimated cost of £4 million to £8 million. It is set to host matches during the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup, which Zimbabwe will co-host with South Africa and Namibia.

Construction is progressing well, with 50% of the main pitch already completed. The media centers, players’ changing rooms, and grandstands are scheduled to be built soon. The Zimbabwean government has allocated 10 hectares of land for the stadium, and it is expected to be completed by August 2025.

The stadium’s scenic location near Victoria Falls, combined with its proximity to safari excursions, is expected to make it a compelling destination for cricket fans and traveling supporters. It will also serve as a multi-sport facility, accommodating rugby, hockey, tennis, and squash.

This project is a significant step in Zimbabwe’s efforts to revive international cricket and attract major tournaments while boosting tourism and economic growth in the region.
